What is an ASE certification?
ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) is an accreditation earned by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. The mission of this non-profit organization is to create a golden standard within the automotive industry, by which customers are assured top quality service and repair. To see their mission through, the ASE certification was developed.
For a technician to become ASE certified, they have to demonstrate their industry knowledge by passing an extensive series of tests. Some of the many categories tested include engine repair, brakes, heating and air conditioning, and electrical systems. These tests are specifically designed to gauge a technician’s level of skill and expertise in the field, and to prove their ability to perform quality service and repairs.
Because of the comprehensive nature of these tests, having an ASE certification is considered a mark of professionalism, displaying high-level proficiency in the automotive industry. As such, this accreditation is highly regarded by both industry peers and customers.
Additionally, to ensure that technician’s industry knowledge and standards evolve alongside innovations in the field, ASE certifications must be renewed every five years. In this way, all services provided by FCH are guaranteed to not only be of the utmost quality, but to also be continuously up-to-date with the latest automotive advancements.
